The Arts District is a quickly developing neighborhood Downtown Los Angeles. The Business Improvement District (BID) is a formally-recognized non-profit organization devoted to improving the quality of life of the area. As a part of their campaign to produce more public art, the Arts District Business Improvement District and author Brigitte Secard approached Don’t Be Jealous Studio (then, Studio DBJ) to help design a mural for the 1st Street Bridge. Don’t Be Jealous Studio wanted to retain the human-centric and thought-provoking elements of Brigitte’s “I Speak Human” concept while keeping the artwork eye-catching and appropriate for the space.

The mural is located at the 1st Street Bridge in Los Angeles and is recognized by the California State Legislature Assembly for its contribution to the city.
